The Chesapeake Bay is the largest estuary in the US, bordering 6 states and boasting 18 million people living in its watershed. It’s a resource to the entire Eastern Seaboard, providing accessible drinking water, a bustling fishing industry, and a home to over 3,000 species of plant and animal life.
It’s also been on the EPA’s “dirty waters” list since 1983.
This September, I will bike across Virginia in a one week, 447-mile journey in support of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation’s work to restore the Bay back to health. With a fundraising goal of $5,000 and with your support, we can make a meaningful impact on achieving CBF’s “2025 Blueprint” of clean waters where our children and grandchildren can swim safely, along with an additional $22.5 billion in economic benefit to Mid-Atlantic states.
CBF is funded by individual donors like us and all donations help support CBF's tree plantings, oyster restoration, and advocacy for stronger laws protecting the Bay.
Every gift makes a difference and every gift is TAX DEDUCTIBLE!
$25 can plant five native trees as a streamside buffer.
$50 can grow 5,000 native oysters.
$140 can send two students for a day of learning around the Bay.
$500 can build 10 reef balls which are effective and safe artificial homes for oysters.
Please donate today to help me meet my $5,000 fundraising goal and help us Save the Bay!
