Gardening for Life Workshop - Bearing Fruit: Creating Backyard Orchards

Tuesday, June 26, 2018
6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Appomattox Regional Library
209 East Cawson Street
Hopewell, VA 23860

In the third of this three-part series, Joel Koci, Virginia Cooperative Extension Associate Specialist, Urban Forestry, will share how apples, pears, plums, and blueberries can beautify your yard while providing fresh fruit. You'll learn which varieties do best in our soils and climate, which fruits need partners for pollination, and how to plant and prune your fruit trees to get them off to a good start.

The workshop takes place in two parts. The first is held at Appomattox Regional Library, after which we will move to the hands-on portion at the Woodlawn Community Center, 1100 Dinwiddie Avenue, approximately 10 minutes from the library.

See all three workshops in the series. Attend just one or all three.
