End Date:
Wednesday, July 24, 2019
Location:
Maryland

Open to Washington County educators grades k-12.

How do our actions in Washington County impact the Potomac River and the Chesapeake Bay? Washington County educators will participate in stream studies, authentic water-quality investigations, and schoolyard assessments to answer these questions and more! Join the Chesapeake Bay Foundation for a unique professional learning opportunity as we spend five days exploring our neighborhoods in and around Washington County. Investigate the connections between our daily activities and the ecology of the Potomac River, its tributaries, and the Chesapeake Bay. Work aboard a research vessel on the Potomac River, canoe along the Monocacy River, create your own "watershed stories" while learning from your peers and having fun!

Length & Location: 3 local investigation days within Washington County.
Credit: Maryland teachers are eligible for 3 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credits from MSDE for successful course completion. MSDE Course Title: Chesapeake Classrooms Field Course; MSDE/CPD Number: 15-66-07
