Bay Discovery Canoe Trip 6/16

Saturday, June 16, 2018
10:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Talbot County

Come paddle with us on Harris Creek in Talbot County, Maryland.

Harris Creek is a prime example of a tidal Eastern Shore creek, replete with large expanses of tidal marsh, abundant wildlife dominated by various species of bird life, and a watershed consisting mainly of farmland. It is also the site of the largest oyster restoration project in the United States (possibly the world!). The paddle is comfortable and peaceful, offering up close views of herons fishing in the shallows and wood ducks nesting in the many trees along the banks.

This trip will be led by CBF educator, Bart Jaeger and CBF Grassroots Field Specialist Hilary Gibson. Paddle instruction will be offered for those who are first-time paddlers. All canoes and paddling equipment will be provided (note: unfortunately, due to insurance limitations, we cannot allow participants to bring their own boats or life jackets).

Children ages 10 and up are welcome to register, but must be accompanied by an adult. This is a paddle for people of all skill levels.

We will be stopping along the way to eat, so please bring a bag lunch.

Things to bring:

  • Shoes that can get wet (old sneakers work great!)
  • Sunscreen and a hat
  • Bug spray
  • Water bottle
  • Bag lunch

Fee is $15.00 for the general public, $10.00 for CBF members.

We're sorry, the deadline for buying tickets for this event has passed.
