VoiCeS 2017 Hampton Roads

This six-week course is held from 6:00-9:00 p.m. on the following evenings: Mon. 10/9, Tues. 10/17, Mon. 10/23, Mon. 10/30, Mon. 11/6, Tues. 11/14. Participants must attend a minimum of five classes to complete the course successfully.

Volunteers as Chesapeake Stewards (VoiCeS) is an intensive multi-week program for adults that provides information on subjects affecting the health of the Chesapeake Bay. The program culminates in a service requirement of 40 hours on a Bay-related project(s) of your choosing. Successful graduates receive CBF's designation as "Chesapeake Stewards."

Topics covered include:

  • Bay history, 
  • wildlife, 
  • wetlands, 
  • fisheries, 
  • urban and rural solutions to pollution, 
  • local restoration, 
  • citizen advocacy, 
  • and much more! 

There will also be at least one field experience during the program.

Course size is limited. Please submit your application and we will get back to you with confirmation.

Fee: $25/individual, $40/couple covers the cost of materials. Payment is due at the first class.
