Open to Southern Maryland educators grades k-12.

We will explore the many aspects of food production in Southern Maryland, focusing on agriculture, aquaculture, fisheries, land use, and water quality. Investigations will look at how the choices we make shape our local environment and the health of the Chesapeake Bay, taking our studies from Southern Maryland to CBF's study center on Smith Island. Teachers will use knowledge and experiences gained during this course to integrate environmental literacy into their curriculum through inquiry-based learning.

Length & Location: 5 local investigation days within Southern Maryland.
Cost: $150
Credit: This course qualifies for 3 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credits from MSDE for Maryland teachers.
