Tame the Rain Workshop (VA)

Thursday, August 17, 2017
5:45 PM - 8:00 PM
Spratley Gifted Center
339 Woodland Road
Hampton, VA 23669

We've all seen the scene. A torrential rainstorm sweeps across our homes, roads, and offices. Instead of absorbing into the ground, rainwater picks up all kinds of pollutants like pet waste, sediment, fertilizers, and automotive fluids. This dirty water finds its way into our local rivers and streams, and eventually, the Chesapeake Bay.

But there are steps we can take to manage rainwater onsite and help improve local water quality. To learn more, join us at one of our "Tame the Rain" workshops!

We are offering three separate workshops. Pick the time and location that works best for you.

  • August 16 at First Baptist Church, 229 N. King Street
  • August 17 at Spratley Gifted Center, 339 Woodland Road
  • August 29 at Air Power Park, 413 W. Mercury Boulevard

In these workshops, you will learn about easy and effective ways to help improve local water quality through enhancing your residential or business property. These practices are designed to be affordable and easy to maintain. Snacks and prizes will be available. We also will be raffling off five rain barrels at each workshop!

This event is free and open to the public, but space is limited!

To register, email Charlene Ihrig at rsvp@cbf.org or call 757-809-2901.
