Platinum City: Design for a Sustainable Future

Open to D.C. Metro Area Educators, grades k-12.

In 2017, DC was named the world's first LEED Platinum City. Teachers will explore the various elements of a LEED Platinum city, including dimensions of sustainable water use, energy, waste, transportation and the human experience. This course will enable teachers to make classroom connections between 21st century skills and the cities of the future, through a deep understanding of relationships between cities, people and the environment.


Length & Location: 5 local investigation days.
Cost: $50 resource fee refunded upon completion of the course.
Credit: Virginia and Washington, D.C. teachers are eligible for 45 Continuing Education Units (CEU’s) for successful course completion.
This course qualifies for 3 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credits from MSDE for Maryland teachers.
