Open to Charlottesville and Albemarle County educators.

Teachers and Educators from Charlottesville and Albemarle County are invited to join the Chesapeake Bay Foundation and Lewis and Clark Exploratory Center for a one-day workshop exploring hands-on environmental education possibilities in the central Virginia area. Deeply rooted in history, Albemarle County hosts a unique learning opportunity for both history and ecology with an expanse of natural landscape suited for learning. Throughout the day, educators will assess the health of local rivers and their connection to the Chesapeake Bay while providing new tools and resources for teachers to bring into their classroom. Participants will spend the morning exploring the Rivanna River by canoe, investigating underwater habitats and freshwater ecology. The second half of the day will be spent at the Lewis and Clark Exploratory Center. Join us for a catered lunch and an afternoon of historical investigations that connect to our natural resources.

Length & Location: 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Lewis and Clark Exploratory Center.
Cost: This workshop is free due to generous support from CBF's donors.
Credit: CBF will provide documentation of continuing certification credit hours/points for successful workshop completion.
