Welcome to Burnham Guides' Chesapeake Bay Foundation Clean the Bay Day page.

This year the Chesapeake Bay Foundation's event will last six days, Monday,
May 31 to Saturday, June 5, giving participants flexibility to do a
litter clean-up anytime during the week.

Burnham
Guides will host a socially-distanced clean-up by kayak, SUP or boat on
Onancock Creek on Saturday, June 5, 9 a.m. to noon
.

*Bring your own kayak, SUP or boat and launch from Onancock Landing.

*Call 757-710-5137 or email mary@burnhamguides.com to reserve a free kayak or SUP from our shop at Onancock Wharf.

Every day, each of us can do our part to make the Chesapeake even more
beautiful by preventing and picking up litter. Clean the Bay Day—a
long-standing Virginia tradition 33 years in the making—inspires us to
do just that. This annual event also introduces participants to some of
the greater, unseen problems the Bay watershed faces such as degraded
habitat, polluted runoff, and nitrogen and phosphorus pollution. Clean the Bay Day shows us that we all can be environmental stewards of our waters.

By participating in Clean the Bay Day 2021, I pledge to get outside, pick
up litter, and work to improve the wellbeing of the 18 million people
and 3,000 species of plants and animals that call the Chesapeake
watershed home.
